During the 79th yearly Worldcon, otherwise known as DisCon III, the champs of the Hugo Awards were reported. Gehenna won the Best Video Game honor, over different candidates Animal Crossing: New Horizons, Blaseball, Final Fantasy 7 Remake, The Last of Us Part 2, and Spiritfarer. “We trust that the Hugo Awards keep on perceiving the stunning work being done in this space,” said Greg Kasavin of Supergiant Games in a broadcast acknowledgment discourse, prior to expressing gratitude toward the Greek divine beings “both above and underneath”.
The Hugo Awards have been perceiving the best artistic works of sci-fi and dream starting around 1953, across a developing arrangement of classes—the classification for Best Graphic Story was just added in 2009. The current year’s Best Video Game classification was incorporated as a unique case.
As DisConIII co-seat Colette Fozard clarified, “Since mid 2020, a large number of us have invested more energy gaming than we at any point anticipated. This honor will offer fans a chance to praise the games that have been significant, euphoric, and remarkable over this previous year.” A long-lasting Best Game or Interactive Experience class is being thought of.
